JeKeU
Privacy Policy
This policy explains how the JeKeU mobile application handles the information you enter while managing household utility data.
Overview
JeKeU is a local-first utility tracking application. The current mobile app does not use a JeKeU account or a JeKeU backend. Its main data is designed to stay on your device unless you deliberately create and share a backup.
Information handled by JeKeU
You may enter and store information such as:
- property names, addresses, and utility configuration;
- meter names, identifiers, types, starting values, and readings;
- tariffs, effective dates, services, recurring charges, and monthly amounts;
- calculation history and resolved values used for a billing period; and
- reading metadata, including a photo reference field where such data is present.
This information is application data that you choose to enter. It is stored locally by the app and is not collected by a JeKeU online service in the current repository implementation.
Local storage
JeKeU uses local SQLite storage on the device for properties, meters, readings, tariffs, services, replacements, and calculation snapshots. The app does not currently use authentication, advertising identifiers, online analytics, crash-reporting services, or telemetry.
Backup and exported files
Backup creation is user initiated. JeKeU builds the backup package on the device. The package contains the restorable application data and a spreadsheet companion for viewing and analysis.
When you share or save a backup, you choose the destination application or provider through the device. That destination may store or transmit the exported file under its own terms. JeKeU does not upload the backup to a JeKeU server.
Device permissions
The app uses local file access for backup package preparation and the system document picker for choosing a backup. It uses the system sharing interface when you ask to share a package.
The current mobile UI audit found no active camera, microphone, location, contacts, notification, or photo-library permission flow. The app includes a stored photo reference field for reading records, but no active photo capture flow was found in the current product UI.
Third-party services and sharing
The current mobile repository contains no active network client, backend integration, analytics SDK, advertising SDK, authentication provider, or crash-reporting service. JeKeU does use Expo platform modules for local storage, file selection, sharing, and the mobile runtime. These platform components operate on the device and may be subject to their platform provider's terms.
Data retention
Local data remains on the device until you edit, archive, delete, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app. Archived meters and services may remain available for historical context. Exported files remain wherever you chose to save or share them.
Data deletion
Use the app's available editing, archive, and delete actions to manage individual properties, meters, services, readings, and related data. Archiving is intended to preserve relevant history while excluding an item from new active use.
To remove JeKeU's local application data from a device, use the operating system's app-storage controls or uninstall the app, according to the device platform. Delete any exported backup files separately from the destination where you saved them. There is no online JeKeU account or deletion endpoint in the current app.
Security considerations
Local storage reduces the need to send household information to a service, but anyone with access to an unlocked device or an exported backup file may be able to access that information. Keep your device and exported files protected. JeKeU does not currently provide cloud storage, encryption, or password-protected backup packages.
Children's privacy
JeKeU is a household utility-management tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through an online service.
Changes to this policy
If the app's data behavior changes, this page will be updated with a new date and revised description. Check this page when installing a new version or using a new data feature.
